So you’re interested in developing a new content marketing strategy. Obviously, you’re going to want to know if what you create will attract the attention you desire.
A great way to do this is to look at your competitors and big sites to see what’s working for them. A little bit of research can go a long way!
This is what Boom Online Marketing did with developing their content marketing plan, and rather than deciding to keep their findings to themselves they’ve put it into a handy infographic so that you can see what they’ve discovered.
The data collected shows what has worked for the Econsultancy blog and which of their posts get the most links. This data includes when a popular post was published, how many comments it had, what subject the post was about and whether or not it was a guest post. The guys at Boom were then able to draw conclusions from the data to see what would work best.
These techniques that Boom Online Marketing used to find this information can be utilised by anyone to understand what content would pull people into their site. Tools including Open Site Explorer and social crawlytics are available free and were used in the creation of this infographic.
